Realize that double-circle affinity isn’t required to make a strong uma. It helps, but aptitudes and skills matter more. Your first goal should be to get any uma to 3* in a desirable stat. Once you do, parent farming gets way easier since you can reuse that uma forever. Use uma.moe to find a good guest parent and save time. In career mode, run a few G1 races for skills, white sparks, and extra affinity. Aim for 600 in the stats you care about, or 1100 if possible on the one you want. Most important thing is don’t sweat it too much and play it casually, because if you force it, you’ll just burn out. After you get your first 3* uma, the grind smooths out a lot since you can just borrow the rest. It's not that miserable just take it easy.

Mice are so varied and beholden to people's specific individual needs that it's hard to give one-size-fits-all recommendations. One more thing I forgot to say. An 8 or even 7 star parent is still viable, don't just auto-glue them. Don't chase absolute perfection because that doesn't exist. Once you establish a single decent legacy horse you'll be able to pump out 3* parents much more frequently as you get better results. And when you have a couple you can mix and match and you'll begin dominating. Uma musume is eugenics game. Good luck anon!

I typically don't bother with styles. For distance and aptitudes I rely on my grandparents and on borrows, it's not RNGproof but I haven't even began optimizing that part yet. I got pretty lucky with a 3* stamina 3* medium biwa so she's the grandparent of all my medium parents. I just make up the difference by searching for a guest parent that fits my aptitude/distance needs. Really you JUST have to get that first parent that you'll use as a building block. After that you can slap it everywhere and its much easier.

How screwed am I in the Group B Finals? I've decided I'd rather die on my feet than live on my knees
I feel like there's no way this much Stamina and Wit is sufficient, but I haven't been able to get a better run than this no matter how many times I try

If i were you I'd build off a 3* that has a skill you would ALWAYS want (like maruzensky or taiki). You could use that bakushin as the parent of the parent you want to build. Assuming you borrowed a 9* guest parent and you get a 2* spark in something you want you now have a 8* parent with a skill you'd always want to give.
