The series was rightfully getting canned because Gust got lazy beyond belief past the early Arland games, arguably even before that.
Rather than actually putting effort in their games and try to emphasize the series' strong points they just doubled down on the fanservice and further casualized the formula with the Ryza games.
But guess what? That only alienated older fans and the new people who played the Ryza games played them because of Ryza, not because they liked Atelier, fast forward to Yumia, which goes even more full retard by changing what little remained of the Atelier series and it was a gigantic flop because Ryza didn't actually bring new people into the series.
Which is why as I said, the series is dying AGAIN.

I've played the mysterious, Ryza, and Yumia games and outside of lydie & suelle, I couldn't detect much yuri bait.
I went into these games expecting to encounter gay shit, found next to nothing, and surprisingly got way more hetero relationships/baits.

Having said that, I acknowledge that the devs do pander and there is some yuri shit there, but it's so unbelievably light that you have to be a yurifag to see it.
