As a standalone, TGAA1 is not that good because it leaves too many things left unresolved and unsatisfying. It's not so much a cliffhanger as it is the setup to a cliffhanger.
As a complete package, it's a fantastic duology.

they're good, I'd say as a complete package they're the second best collection of games.
as individual games they're all over the place in terms of quality with some real severe low points early on that don't plague the other entries.
I do question someone's sanity if someone thinks that these are better than the original trilogy, the characters as a whole are likeable but drag on too much at times, without Sherlock the cast's total quality drops below other collections.
But I think it's worth playing if your a fan, but only if your a fan.

I don't mean it sounds retarded grammatically (although some sentences may sound like that). I mean that it doesn't sound like natural English.
For instance, the most common way to refer to someone in third person in Japanese is "ano hito" (that person). However, saying that in English sounds stupid in most scenarios.

I disagree on the third case but i can understand if you aren't in love with the start, it's by far the worst and slowest start to any of these games, it gets better after the first two but if by the third you aren't feeling it then you might as well abandon ship as it's the best case of the first game and a personal favorite from the duo.
With that said I don't feel like it's discussed enough how shockingly slow and unsatisfying the start of the game is.
