Its modestly passable, but if you wanted an actual RPG you'll be disappointed.
They thought literal turn-based combat would be enough of a novelty to make up for the fact that you still have the same design flaws from sticker star that they stubbornly are going to keep trying until you rike it.

I finally got around to playing TTYD and I'm enjoying it, I take back everything I said about Hat Goombas, I want more of them

It's mediocre.
After the two shit heaps before it, it looks good. On its own, not really.

It's an honest and a good adventure game. It's not a successor to TTYD.

Pros
>Olivia is super cute
>finding the scattered Toads is fun
>engaging levels and puzzles for the most part
Cons
>combat fucking sucks
>all equipable items are just a straight upgrade to the previous
>a few cheap instant kills here and there
Overall I enjoyed it a lot and considered it a legit Paper Mario game even if I think the first two are better

No. The first two are the only good ones.

TTYD > PM > SPM > TOK > CS > SS
This is the correct power ranking. Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam doesn't count as it's a just Mario & Luigi game with some Paper Mario characters in it.
