Who else pays the sub? There isn't much of a raid scene, there is no mythic+ equivalent, and the PvP is a joke. It's literally just people sitting on housing plots and RPers.

> "And because of this new direction, it could be that the overall [amount] of content that we implement in the game goes down. But in doing so, we hope that many more players will be able to enjoy the content that we implement."
From the PC gamer article.

If this was an expansion or two or three ago I'd have some faith in this idea - less stratified content with the content being able to vary from accessible to hard. But this reeks, screams even, of "We're going to give you less content and still charge you the same" although I honestly expect square to be retarded enough to raise the subscription rate because of economic conditions yadda yadda yadda.

The moment I learned Dawntrail was the same exact formula as usual for expansions is when I dropped the game entirely. They should've just opted to make it more sandboxy with a bunch of side stories instead of poorly trying to make some new grand plot.

This is the most content we've ever gotten at this point in an expansion and people are still whining about there being nothing to do.
The move to make things variable so even faggy 'midcore' players will do it is the right one.

Just one more 10 minute voiced cutscene bro, just one more cutscene and surely everyone will want to be subscribed. Having some rando background NPC voiced by some shit ass trainee with no direction tell you some irrelevant shit about the garbage plot is peak entertainment.

I've come to realize there's no way they can actually do a compelling story in just 3.25 expansions if they go up to 10.0 (And we just write off DT 7.0 to 7.3). Maybe if you have Ishikawa able to do her magic since she had an ability to do rapid turnarounds, and almost certainly Azem will be a visible character as a way to stoke interest to try and match Hydaelyn's omnipresence in the plot before. But it was just an unbelievable, bone headed mistake to rush to end the 2.0 (1.0 even!) storyline. Better to have gone on to 7.0, maybe 8.0, then the last 2-3 expansions be what DT was supposed to be: Whimsical adventures after you save the world/existence.

>This is the most content we've ever gotten at this point in an expansion

>24 man part 1, part 2
Normal patch feature
>8 man part 1, part 2
Normal patch feature
>Field instance part 1 with Crescent
Eureka dropped in 4.25, so in line with the past
>Cosmic exploration
Ishgard Restoration dropped in 5.1, so in line with the past. Except I forget if 7.1 or 7.2 was the moon, I think it was 7.2.

So the discrepancy so far is that SB had field instance but no ishgard resto (it did have Doma but lol that being content), and SHB had ishgard resto but no field instance

Variant and criterion dungeons are from END. We haven't gotten any yet.
We're due to get the deep dungeon at the same time as in the past
Ultimate raid addition is the same as in END and SHB in terms of patch cycle
Faux Hollows are mechanically similar if not identical to the OG content, just ilvl scaled up so counting that feels ridiculous.
Chaotic Alliance raid is a new addition since we didn't have that before.
We haven't gotten beastmaster yet.

So unless I am missing something, the additional content DT has over the past is a field instance and restoration at the same time, and chaotic alliance raid.

One is confirmed for 7.4. Probably with quantum difficulty stuff. Personally hope for a second in 7.5 but doubt it.
>We haven't gotten beastmaster yet.
Certainly 7.5 if not 7.55.
>So unless I am missing something, the additional content DT has over the past is a field instance and restoration at the same time, and chaotic alliance raid.
I think he's meaning we haven't had all of these types of content in one expansion simultaneously before.

He said explicitly "This is the most content we've ever gotten at this point in an expansion". I can see your argument about in one expac simultaneously, but that feels generous. Likewise, it feels disingenuous when I hear his claim and similar parroted as it suggests some greater sweep by far when instead it's functionally a +1 situation, as the lack of an earlier variant dungeon (6.25 for endwalker, none equivalent in DT) means if we're doing plain quantity to quantity then DT is -1, so all it has right now is field instance and restoration at the same time if variant dungeon lalafell-land and cloud of darkness rehashed cancel eachother out.

Beastmaster I have hopes for. Blue mage was a fun concept and I wish they'd lean more on that kind of 'horizontal' additions and not just retooled raids and trials. Especially if you have to engage with the open world and encounter beasts that'd be great as it becomes an attraction that makes you engage with the world and maybe then do more quests on an alt class while you are there or finally get the flight paths or whatever.

That said you can add the graphical update to DT as a 'point'. I'm not sure how much the graphics department or budget impacts others (if people multi-task for instance), and I can't say that DT has 'less' content than normal. It's just that the near minimum we've gotten the past three expansions is no longer cutting it. So Shogun of Lies Yoshida going off about less content makes me glass half empty rather than half full at this point.

You're also not considering that the Cosmic Exploration updates (for better or worse) are probably considerably more substantial than Ishgard Restoration.
Personally I'd like to have seen at least one star removed to give something extra to Occult Crescent.

Legitimately though: Why is it this year every company and government has decided to fuck with the gooners? They have to be one of the most profitable and large groups to exploit these days. US? Gooners. Canada? Gooners. India? Gooners. Japan? Gooners. No matter where you go in the world? Gooners.

They're everywhere and they pay for asses dicks pussies and titties. They make money.

Who the fuck cares about public perception when probably half of the public complaining about them probably ARE them on top of the gooners that aren't hiding in the group of people complaining in the first place?

Because yids want too have total control over pornography so they can present it the way they want so that they can manipulate the populace's perceptions
This also corners the market's profits as a secondary effect

Realistically I think the only people that would provide ID proof for internet porn are the people who pay for internet porn, so this would actually make porn sites more profitable by no longer having to serve content to freeloaders.
Anonymous No.719037431

I'm not entirely sure that's true, especially when it comes to data breaches and theft of personal information by RealID information on file. I know, people are all like it's safe. They have security. The government has security. All that.

But then I remember apple, google, microsoft, and the US governments nuclear codes all got hacked this year, and that's just the chip of the iceberg of companies and governments that got hacked in just this year. Not counting any other years.

When real money is involved, do you feel safe? Especially on a porn site? The entire idea of anonymous viewing and them making money off you through ads and other means is that both sides understand they like this shit they money needs to be involved but that no one wants to out themselves because there are psycho social and political groups that will dig up your shit and display it on a fucking skyscraper to shame you.

>they pay for asses dicks pussies and titties. They make money
They pay people that are mostly indie. Even if payment processors and middlemen take cuts that's not enough. The merchant first takes away what you want as it's provided by others, then he provides it to you himself but of course it's completely controlled and curated by himself as well. You'd only buy and like what he gives or nothing as the alternative that you used to have being gone.

fair point, I'll give it that they actually are sticking with the restoration idea and expanding on it (not abandoning it like they had some earlier content)

>>719036529
It may be as simple as someone in a senior position (unelected) has a vendetta. Or it may be that movements established pressure on the moneylenders to stymy it.

>>719036994
ID for porn just strikes me as so insane, it's literally the epitome of the kind of shit intelligence agencies dislike with deviants applying for the job (the ability to blackmail). I would only consider ID for something I use to communicate with my friends online (Discord) if nobody was willing to go to one of the non-ID alternatives, which is that classic paradigm of if not enough people use a service (say, fax machines) the service is worthless. Would that it was the past before restrictive APIs and you could have one app that interacts with all the IM services.

My tinfoil hat theory is at least for europe, governments are going to reduce their social welfare spending and increase military/security spending. A regime that has little legitimacy can survive if it uses gibmebux - see Saudi Arabia or Algeria (at least in the past, I dunno how they are now). A regime that lacks any carrot has to either rely on the stick or it will get overthrown in some kind of a color revolution. You can't pass an ID law to go against wrongspeech or criticizing the government, you can when you can nebulously tie it to peter files.

In the US it's just bog standard conservativism do as I say not as I do + maybe a delusional hope that less porn means you can get more birthrates

Yeah. Maybe to the detriment of other content. 4 entries of gatherer/crafter content with entirely new zones and presumably entirely new rewards feels... well...
