Honestly I kind of want to vent and let stuff out for how it feels to work this pile of shit job. You basically have to spend around 8 hours on fucking /v/ and other boards. It might seem like a dream job for SOME, but I've grown to actually despise this so much.

I wish I was contracted by some big corpo like that, then I'd be getting the big bucks.

Most of it was indie games and stuff. How it works is you can get a lot of these jobs from subreddits like r/slavelabour, they are a bit vague with what you do at first but I kind of had an idea for what it was going to be based on the vague description.

A lot of times in the job they ask for like a vague ass "social media help" but in reality a lot of is shilling and arguing on places like 4chan or Twitter etc.
Anyways cause I used 4chan a lot and lurked a ton on a lot of the boards they thought I'd be a natural fit for mainly shilling and arguing for traction on /v/
What would happen was the supplier think of it (the people that hired me) would get contacted by various indie games and I'd make threads and argue with other people and shit to gain awareness.

Sorry if some of this is boring just thought some people might find it cool but yeah, my pay was nowhere near shilling those

To clarify I did other duties too, but they were pretty minimal but still contributed a bit to my pay.

My initial pay was a bit lower though. They also trusted me more than other people who initially joined cause I used to be a small YouTuber and I guess in their eyes they saw it as potential for managing to keep people's attention and shit.

Shilling and the stuff I did (which was mostly spoken about with corpo speech anyways nobody called it that lol) was just "make this many threads this week about x game, y game, argue and keep engagement" etc. and they would also do analysis on a lot of your work and progress by using 4chan archives.

One of the coders who worked for the agency I was a part of even had a script to constantly monitor mentions of said game being promoted via detecting keywords in the archives and then using them to monitor organic growth not from you and just how much it is spoken about. They had this for places outside of /v/ too btw, essentially scrapers

In the reply I just wrote a bit more I went in a bit more, but I wasn't allowed to push and engage with any topics that would be deemed to detriment the game from a political stance OR make it seem unappealing from a gameplay perspective. Bro I work 8 hours overnight innafactory 5 days a week from 10-6, but because i work with CNC machinery and robots, most of my work time is spend shitposting or finding r34 i havnt seen yet (impossible challenge)
