My schizo theory is that they know certain AAA devs will make shitty ports that would make the Switch 2 look bad.

The strategy is that Nintendo never wanted to move on from the Switch 1 and now they have decided to make the Switch 2 an ultra slow burn console where they will takes enormous amount of time to flesh it out to not stagnate the switch 1.
