battlefield 1, V, and 2042 still have small but dedicated playerbases. Halo MCC and Halo infinite do as well. and call of duty is still a fucking monolith of a franchise.

although most new attempts at FPS franchises have failed. political shit aside, when a new FPS drops every single sweat and streamer swarms it which kills off a lot of the casual playerbase overnight. and cheating is not nearly as much of a problem as /v/ makes it out to be. of course, i don't play battle royales so i wouldn't know - if there's a cheater in my lobby i just leave, wait a bit, and requeue.
