I finished it in 44 hours and really enjoyed it.

Combat is good, might be one of my favorites ever
Exploration is good, though made somewhat worse by there being less equipment to be found
Mastery based weapon upgrade and Skill Tree respec mean you are free to experiment with builds and weapons however you want

I think these were the big highlights for me. I wont say it's the greatest thing ever and it definitely took me a few hours to really "get" it, but I absolutely do not regret paying the full price.

i did an experimental ng+ run mostly to see what would happen if i went to zhenwu first. it's kind of tricky since all of the pendants and benedictions get upgrades in ng+ and on. i think they only go up to +2 but i'm not entirely sure.

i guess if you want to just blast through content, you should figure out what benedictions and pendants you want to upgrade and also if there is any other gear that you missed the first time around that you want to make sure you don't miss. otherwise, you can just beeline from point A to point B until you get what you're looking for.

also, i'm not sure if the way they upgrade is based on how many times you find them or on what NG+ you are on. so, for example, if you miss a benediction/pendant on ng+ but find it on ng++, i'm not sure if the one you get will be the +1 or +2 variant.

also, when it comes to benedictions, the set bonuses also get a +1 or +2 etc, and they don't activate unless you have all 3 runes of the same grade.

On ng++ you only get +2 pendants and benedictions if that's what youve been wondering about so. The set effects only triggering with the right grade is kinda stupid but I guess the higher stat gains are supposed to make up for it.
Kinda wish they would've just balanced the enemy resistances better for future runs though. Trying to go for corruption or other status effects on ng++ isn't worth it since it almost never triggers anymore due to resistances. It's rendering some earlier benedictions and pendants kinda useless.

Since I don't feel like making a thread for this, did TN make Wo Long easier than it was at launch? I didn't really play much but I just did the first few levels that I did back then and I'm having a significantly easier time.

I've done two runs, Normal, and NG+ And I have not fought him or demon of obsession.
First, because I did it blind, and missed four bosses in total. On NG+ I wanted to clear anything I missed, but didn't read carefully enough, and ended the game early with Bo inheritor.
But for me, Mistress Yan was by far the hardest boss. Nobody else came even close.

I like ancient chinese culture and japan meiji/pre-meiji era. It doesn't necessarily need to have mythology tied in but I think it makes for a more interesting experience. I don't know what games people are playing where these settings are "overplayed" because I look and look and look around and barely find any actually good games set in these time periods.
