Why aren't you playing the demo of Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter, objectively the greatest video game release of 2025?

Because I already played the original and while I enjoyed it, it's undeniably a massive slog for the majority of the game. I don't see myself ever replaying FC, it was more than enough slogging through it once.

Those are actually pretty nice QOL stuff, so I'm sure it is great for people who never played the original but it's just not interesting to me enough because this is still FC, a game I already played.

I played up to the tower and saw enough. I am willing to buy the game when it comes out. Sadly I just can't get into later entries in the series so I'm glad they're remaking Sky

It's not just Daybreak combat. It's based partially on Daybreak combat but also includes a bunch of Cold Steel stuff too like critical hits having the big impact and follow up attacks.

I actually found Estelle MORE useful than Joshua in the demo. That will probably change though in the later game when you get more and better quartz.
Either way Estelle isn't dead weight like she is in the original, her crafts have been massively buffed.

Estelle's crafts have been buffed. Also I build her up as a spellcaster and she ended up massively outdamaging Joshua. Joshua's still useful becuase he can delay, but he seems to work best as support for Estelle rather than the main damage dealer.
