if youre looking for a game and your criteria is that it "must be like x game as much as possible" you are going to be disappointed with everything you play because youve already played a game that is 100% like x game and that is x game itself. everything pales in comparison to the real thing.

It's honestly not bad, it's pretty fun, but it has (had? idk if they fixed it) performance issues on PC, and doesn't really do anything better than DDDA and is more of a remake than a sequel.
It could still be GOAT'd if it gets an expansion as good as Dark Arisen, but it's highly unlikely.

Terrible performance, janky combat, literally zero story and it's super short, post-game is timed and resets all your progress if you die, removed the best vocations, ruined the fun vocations, shitty leveling, shitty grinding, level scaling, less boss enemies than the first game (lol), almost no good loot, no undergarments (way less customization), and worse than anything it's honestly just boring.

Nana is like the girl equivalent of Monster. People really, really like it because of the unique 'mature vibe' it gives, but it's fundamentally a trashy soap opera about impulsive sluts who think they deserve better that people get attached to because manga normally doesn't do that kind of thing and the anime presents itself cleverly.

Video games thankfully have a way higher variety of actual quality experiences than anime does (and this is even more true for manga, which is almost entirely trash and hardly has anything on par with anime movies, of which quite a few are decent), so you're not wrong to come to /v/ searching for this kind of thing.

Shattered Memories is pretty much universally agreed to be the only Silent Hill game not made by Team Silent worth playing. A good number of people put it above 4 as well.

>the story is so predictable you might as well just watch the cutscenes
I don't even understand what you are saying here. You would want to just watch cutscenes if gameplay was tedious or boring. If the story was predictable (and I don't think it is) you would probably stick to the game purely because you found the gameplay enjoyable.

In any case, I think that Shattered Memories had a really fascinating way of telling its story and I love the little changes in a playthrough adding replayability. The game isn't infinitely replayable but it is definitely a game where the second playthrough is much better than the first. It is also extremely good at atmosphere and the very first time the world switches gradually to the Other World with the sound of metal creaking as light poles bend and warp and a wave of ice just covers everything is genuinely unmatched for me in any of the mainline SH games.
The game has significant flaws but I don't think 'predictable story' is one of them.

For me it's Battlezone 1 & 2. They are RTS / FPS hybrid games where you not only get the "classic" RTS mechanics (resource gathering, base building, unit production & unit control) but you can also pilot any one of your vehicles and control your units while you fight alongside them. The concept isn't complicated but I fucking swear there's barely anything like it. Some games do a few things but everything else I've seen is very compromised on the RTS side of things.

Don't even start on telling me about Fallout. It's not even close to the depth of Wasteland's mechanics and interactivity, despite being released 9 years after.
You could apply your attributes directly on the grid, like the strength stat to pry open a door, a dexterity or IQ to crack a safe, and a luck stat to land safely. Hell, Wasteland even had destructible environment, and not just doors. And if you can't destroy something, you can always try climbing over it.

It’s unfinished.
Dragons Dogma 1 had to be reworked into something decent after they simply ran out of money, it was made during an era Capcom was really struggling financially.
Dragons Dogma 2 had plenty of budget but got thrown out the door way too soon to appease shareholders when the Dead Rising Remake barely sold anything and that brand new IP (Path of the Goddess, Which looks pretty good imo) made fuck all after Xbox sabotaged it with their incompetence

APB Reloaded. It's so damn unique, I like the Arcady, yet precise combat and to this day I can't find another game where I like the customization more as well as having that kind of customization in that type of game. Ultimately I had to put that game behind me, but still haven't quite found something like it. I know there's stuff like Garry's Mod and Second Life and so on, but it's just not he same.

I'm not saying that girls like it because they are vapid and just like vapid stuff. I'm not simply misogynistic like that.

Rather, it's an anime series that happens to be about a dumb as fuck slut who happens to find a cool musician friend to be her roommate, and this appeals to many because it offers a kind of "imagine how cool it would be to cruse around the underbelly of the city music scene with a more mature girl who can show you the ropes" scenario. The issue is that, despite doing a very good job of 'appearing to deal with issues that are adult and sophisticated', the main characters are really fucking stupid and insufferable and most of the series is watching them fuck up by acting like entitled retards and then moping about how fucked and full of drama their lives are despite being supported by everyone who cares about them. This itself isn't part of the appeal, but the series is able to successfully sell itself as something "more mature than other shoujo" anyway based on how well it presents it all, which it is pretty clever at. The supporting cast carries the protags' dumb asses through shit.
