the games never really sold very well
we don't have sales data but we have units shipped
only one of them broke 500k
the very first psp game didnt break 100k
this was mostly to do with locking them to sony consoles
actually most psp games sold poorly because nobody had one
but the console games are actually pretty good, but i say this as a fan. the games were just for the fans, which by nature is defined as less than 'everyone'
i would have to speculate that they must think they have done enough, as there are enough classic vocaloid songs already, and that period is clearly long over.
it's a similar situation with the concerts. they don't make profit off of those. they are just for the fans. it's why they are so expensive and still generally run a loss. this was made public in an interview i forget the details of.
