Not happening. Astro Bot only won because Sony bought the awards in anticipation of Concord being a success. When it failed, they speedran a marketing campaign touting Astro Bot as the best thing since sliced bread. Plus, 2024 sucked for games with basically nothing notable.
Bananza doesn't have a chance in a year with not one but two award bait games in E33 and DS2.

This game had zero cultural impact

Bananza isn't even top 5 this year. Astro was good but should have gotten 3rd place. Helldivers 2 and Wukong were the actual GOTY games. This year is easily E33. Whoever thinks DS2 is in the running hasn't played it. What a huge fucking dud of a sequel. Silksong and Yotei quality remain to be seen, but right now nothing is threatening E33 except tendie delusion and Sony schizos.

They're acceptable when the trade off is soul and kino. Wukong and E33 were both so good they're both still causing seethe to this day. Gamescom recognized the GOTY fuck up by letting Game Science close out the night with their new game announcement, and Geoff is giving GOTY to E33 no matter how many times Kojima sucks his dick. UE5 has faults, but it let two relative nobodies create industry shaking games.

Nintendo's aesthetic sense has gone down the toilet. They were never great in that regard but the new Donkey Kong is so unpleasant and so many of their games have that god awful transparency effect. Sega Saturn had better looking transparencies.

Have any of you actually played the game? It's beautiful, and the boss fights are grandiose and fluid. It'd be an amazing boss rush if not for the actual fun levels in between turning it into an outright adventure. It puts most othe rganes in its field to shame. I will never understand the unhinged hate for this game besides some weird schizo hatred for China driving it.

Wukong has amazing scenery, awesome boss fights, great music, an interesting dodging and gourd mechanic, a neat approach to equipment buffs, and those gorgeous animated chapter endings. The often very detailed anecdotes for every enemy you encounter are an example of great attention to detail. It's got artistic passion all over it.
