I'm playing through it right now and I agree. The gameplay itself is top notch. The pacing is a bit wonky, but not terrible. My one complaint is that proning is too op. Definitely even better if you don't use the listen mode too. Wallhacks make it less tense.

4.1 or 5 for peak EDF'n. All others are supplementary. Iron Rain and Insect Armageddon are skippable unless you become a true EDFaholic.

I had an absolute blast with Wildlands. I have an itch I like to scratch occasionally with exactly that type of game, basically "Here's a map, clear out all the objectives" and Wildlands was great for that since I could overlap it would my love for stealth shooters, I basically played tacticool commando sneaker man clearing out the entire map in the night undetected.

Space Marine 2 isn't discounted, what a shame. Since it's the best one in a while. TPS is too broad of a category to tell you what you'll think you'll like. But I'll give you a hidden gem recommendation: El Matador. It's an old Max Payne clone from back in the day, rough around the edges but fun and plays more like Payne 2 with less story beat interruptions. You can only buy Stranglehold on GOG so i can't recommend what you can't buy. Vanquish is a good one, 70% off.
