For small amounts of electricity just get someone with a job or hobby that produces some, like poppy.

Underlings can't craft for you but you can purchase or plunder shit. Furniture shopkeepers sometimes have functional stuff for sale. Any furniture in a town that has a quest board can be claimed with that town's furniture tickets. You can buy tickets from the local secretary with influence. You get influence in a town by doing quests there. If you bring a secretary to your own base they'll sell Mysilia's furniture tickets.

For food, buying it is a viable alternative to making your own though it won't measure up to the megafoods you'll be able to make lategame. For gear, the intended way of obtaining it is dungeons and shopkeepers, gear crafting is a shit.

Not quute the best. Need someone to expand the npc dialogue into a bunch of hand crafted dialogues to make each npc feel unique and have personality. So you can seduce, antagonize, and other interactions.

I like Ehekatl, but boosting luck, charisma, and fishing doesn't really seem like the best use of of god.
Luck doesn't seem too helpful in general.

Graphics do not matter but the envoiremental design is very basic and bland.
No craggy landscapes with cliffs and valleys, deep forests, natural caves, decaying ruins with debris and castles with floorplans that actually make sense.
And yes, I know that this is genre standard for Roguelikes and ADOM has even worse envoirements, but "the best game ever made" would have to be at least great in all aspects.

It's just a sprite replacement and the object is placed high off the ground. It's easy as fuck to mod sprites in this game because it was intentionally designed to be that way. One of the things noa showed off years ago was how easy it is to modify sprites in real time without needing to close the game.

I dont think even with all the lesson learned from a longer playthrough can help much with a new game run trying to min/max shit, there is just not enough time.I think paying taxes on time and get to go around doing shit freely is a good accomplishment, might wanna start cooking for the stat boost. Epic weapon cant help much if youre not leveling up your stat with the food boost.

You don't. You're better off pumping an innkeeper/baker up to level 40-50 or so and just buying your stat food like that early on. Unless you do some bullshit you're not going to have good ingredients for cooking and you're not going to have particularly good recipe options that can use a high number of ingredients.

Your food is going to be gated hard by your farming/cooking progression. Make sure you save any equipment you find with +skills for those(you can make custom equipment sets to swap to so it's not even tedious to change equipment every time you farm or cook) and work toward level 7 potential crops. You can automate the entire process if you want by getting a bunch of gardeners but it's always going to be faster to do it yourself. There are extra min/maxing steps you can do to turn your ingredients into even better ingredients with more stats but either look that up yourself or experiment and learn.

as the other anons said, no mods from steam workshop, it's all stock vanilla furniture, some dyed, with a couple of sprite replacements. If you press esc and go to the texture viewer you can replace individual sprites for your map

if you download https://files.catbox.moe/xs66q9.z and put it in your AppData\LocalLow\Lafrontier\Elin\User\Map you can visit the tent yourself (i think it's called Cal's Paper Tent or something) via green moongate and inspect how I did it. also, if you unzip the .z file you can get f̶r̶e̶e̶ d̶o̶l̶p̶h̶i̶n̶ p̶o̶r̶n̶ the .PNGs of all the sprites i used, though the lulwy stuff is from amaebiworld and the boorus

No, you don't actually visit another player's world. You just get to visit their base in whatever state they uploaded. You won't actually see another player if you visit although if their NPCs are allowed to roam around you'll see them moving as normal.

It's highly recommended not to visit though. Often times you'll end up in death traps which are designed to kill you or you'll see boss statues plastered everywhere which spoils some of the later surprises or worst of all you may end up in /v/'s very own Outer Epstein.

Well I like the strategy and planning elements of them and in games like Rogue or Nethack I like how responsive and interconnected the world and mechanics are. Elin frankly doesn't have that but it does have the building element and I like shit like Dwarf Fortress so for me it's that it's a comfy game that combines two genres I like even if it's not the best building game or the best rogue-like.

There are similar games but I'm not aware of any that are quite like Elona/Elin because they were never made with gameplay or focused goals in mind. A lot of games that are similar to Elin are roguelikes with a more refined genre experience but that's all they are. Every single thing about those games exists to facilitate the roguelike gameplay. Elona/Elin are the result of an Asian guy who had an autistic fixation on a roguelike game but he wanted to add in a bunch of other stuff to it from other games he liked when he tried making his own. As a result Elona/Elin aren't particularly good roguelikes(they're way, way too unfair for permadeath) but they have a similar gameplay style and enough shit to cater to a variety of fixations.

Barely anything has been added in terms of progression. noa has primarily been focusing on fleshing out the world first. There are more enemies, certain biomes have more diversity(the ocean got a lot of attention), melee is still extremely basic but it at least has more than nothing, more recipes were added but I still wouldn't say the incomplete crafts are anywhere near finished, etc.

Do not expect the story to see much if any real progress until the game comes close to 1.0. He's focusing on bringing game feature variety closer to Elona first. The story is the last thing he's going to work on.
