From what I gathered from the first game, to destroy the Vanagard you needed a powerful weapon ASAP ,no matter what cost. From war perspective it makes sense.
However they were ashamed of using it once, that's why Tank went into dormant and had it's AI split.

Off the top of my head, I remember Puzzle Agent 2 and RE 8 doing that. Portal 2 also did that, but it was a good sequel, so it wasn't a problem.

I think Merveille would probably enjoy hearing about vidya lore. Especially if you prefaced it with all those game worlds being just as real as her own. Flo seems like the type to like listening to whatever you have to say if she likes you. Opera would probably just find your nerdiness amusing. Alicia seems to have a thing for dorks since she's into Waffle, so she might not mind either. The only one I can think of who probably would is Elh.

To be fair, the growth acceleration made him develop to the physical size and maturity of an eight year old in under a year. (for Merveille's sake better hope he was a test tube baby). Not even he knows he's only 9 years old. Though while he is physically mature, he very clearly isn't mentally mature, as shown by his mannerisms and behavior in game. He still acts like an early teenager despite having the body of a grown man.

As for Tail Concerto. Waffle is 15, but somehow also a cop.

People say play this one , it's on par with first Melodies. But when I look closer all I see is pallete swap. Literally. Kids now pilot the bad guy's tank (which was rebuilt despite being hit with all mighty obliterating Soul Cannon btw) fight first Jihl mentioned earlier, then your friend dies but not really, so she can be replaced by Female Britz, but from Gasco. And then you fight smug Dracula who ressurected the Vanagard somehow.
Malt is leader now and gets gradually more depressed. This is not a good story.

Maybe if I played the sequel first I'd be more forgiving, but this is made up nonsense that contradicts first game.

In the sequel they implemented it better , by giving us Managram , which was "Diet Soul Canon" AND Soul Canon countdown.

Forgive me for being this "idea guy" , but Soul Canon Countdown could be implemented in the VERY FIRST game, as literal Nightmare Mode:

After beating the game 100% you have an option to play the game again and during boss battles instead of nudge nudge you'd have a random kid going ENOUGH IM GOING IN who goes to the soul chamber and you have couple of turns to win or else game wins the battle for you.
