1 was almost like an eldritch horror mystery featuring norman reedus and the funky fetus.
2 was just more of the same without the eldritch horror, which made it a much more boring game. It was a souped up DLC add on.

every single game that has ever been made steals from kojima and his idea of death stranding
kojima knew this, but he let them. he knew if he released his version of death stranding whole, without every single concept stolen from it, there would be no reason for any other video game to ever exist in this world. people would go mad from the absolute brilliance of the original
so he let them take, and they made games like pong, karnov, adventure - all the way to today, and even games to be released in the future

I enjoyed OTB, all 150 hours I put into it. But it did not live up to my expectations for a Kojima sequel. Most disappointing game from him since MGS4, and it's close too.

Just defeated Higgs in the first game. First few hours were less appealing but the moment the game opened up with the middle continent and you can build roads and use the trikes and trucks i treated it like Euro Truck Simulator and it was incredibly fun. The mountain was certainly a choice. Its annoying sometimes but it makes using the ziplines very nice later on. I have no idea where the story will go in 2 to be honest. It feels like Kojimbo explored everything in this one.

I have no idea why he dies it but at this point I've become used to straight up mostly ignoring some mechanics to actually get the most out of the gameplay.

I get that he's making Lou the protag next game but where else can he fucking go with this universe when the entire setting revolves around Sam and the apocalypse is permanently stalled in a bad state?
Like obviously he can physically go to one of the 5 continents he hasn't connected to the chiral network yet, but who the fuck will be the antagonists?
Is he going to have war between Bridges and whatever chinese chiral network military state exists?

A TV series perhaps, but he wouldn't get the funding necessary for the huge amounts of SFX that he would have to use in live action, let alone an animated series.

Kojima is in a spot in which videogames are the best way to actually give his vision life.

At the end of the game, they mention that more than one Plate Gate might appear, so Its possible it will be more than one continent again. I hope that the game is split between Sam and Lou, because I do not want to play as that bitch the entire game.
My biggest concern about a possible sequel ever since i saw the ending scene that left it open, however, is that I really just don't see what else he can do with the game. DS2 was easy as fuck, and theres really not much more he can add in the way of guns or movement/vehicles. Unless he makes the game take place somewhere with very varying/difficult terrain, it will just be more driving around from A to B because its pointless to walk anywhere and make things take longer

As someone who beat both of them, I honestly think he's just using it for funding his other projects at this point. The story was wrapped up well enough in the first game, but after the second there is REALLY no need to continue. I guess he just want's to make a trilogy out of it to wrap it all up, but I don't know what else he can do with the formula
