Is Onirism actually a good game? I never gave it a try because it was being forced so hard here.

It's the kind of game that simply doesn't exist anymore. Variety hour 3D platformer just like the good ol' 6th gen days.

its fine, but its still a janky, buggy mess and like 90% of the guns are trash. but if you can get passed that, it has charm.

It's fun. Needs some polish, but an enjoyable experience with a fuckload of weapons and costumes and actually fucking rewards exploration, unlike most modern titles.

Incoming Discord circlejerk aside, it's an OK platformer/shooter, but it suffers from feature bloat and an impressive level of jank, and it gets worse and worse as the dev updates it. The latest update is an absolute travesty of level design, which is made all the more aggravating when you're given a completely worthless "map" to compensate.
Given the game is supposed to release next month, I don't think it'll be quite finished from the get go. You could wait a bit for impressions to come out, surely it's bound to get a few reviews here and there after they finally found some sort of publisher.

Its fun and has at least 20h of main game to play but a bunch of that in the later half is lacking VAs for the cutscenes and the voice that is in the game is french. Got dozens of weapons and outfits to buy, or find all over the levels, with a lot of them being fodder but with so many its expected. More outfits with the mods too.

The platforming and shooting are fine, the hidden levels that change that to something different can be crap but theyre entirely optional. As above says the map in the later parts is a mess, candy land is a lil shit but then theres the shitadel and thats a damn maze. That theres two versions of the map with different available doors is extra crap.

Gameplay looks pretty arena shooter-y but I have yet to buy in because I still want affirmation of a release date (that does seem to exist but I was also told to wait and see if they offer it on sale one more time before fully launching).

The level design is a disaster. The weapons are all terrible and the inventory/items/resources system is completely retarded and non-functional. The platforming parts are painful. The game can't decide if it wants to be action or exploration/platforming (hint: it should be action within its limitations, but it isn't). There is no identity, the devs don't know what they're doing, the artists treat the 3D environments like garbage dumps where they accumulate assets without any consideration.
It's typical European trash.

its good but i haven't tried to play it in years. i saw a lot of potential, 5 years ago, so i am eagerly waiting for release before further spoiling myself. however if i were going to be critical of what i had played, i would say it tried to tie a lot of different games together yet didn't really excel in any of them. that may be different now, as when i was actively watching it's development there were a lot of positive changes to things such as movement and it seems much more polished.
so i will recommend it when it releases, simply because it was still very enjoyable as an action adventure. early access fucking sucks

a hat in time is one of my favorite games of all time so i have to recommend that. it has solid platforming, a lot of great details and secrets, and while it is plenty fun singleplayer, the multiplayer system is great. i replayed it again with my friend not too long ago and its just a great time to the end. then there are a lot of workshop levels and challenges, which are great because its one of the few games i felt like i wanted more of when i played it

Very divisive. The whole project in itself is just amazing: lots of content, very huge campaign and arsenal, satisfying combat, great humor, great soundtrack, hot monstergirls, but the whole thing has a lack of polish that can frustrate, from general optimization to pacing. I myself find the game amazing, but I can understand some of the negative criticism that comes from said lack of polish.

i believe that, i just don't want to play an unfinished product anymore. every time there was a substantial update to onirism i would feel like i had to restart even if i didn't actually have to. i haven't experienced a lot of the latter content, there are a lot of webms that are completely novel to me. i don't think i ever saw anything past that scifi greenhouse type area which was really cool, but ive replayed various reiterations of chromafalls and im convinced that not waiting is just removing a lot of the potential magic

I'm a massive Carolfag but the last update was a level design nightmare. I thought the glacier was bad but Mashmallots is awful. Getting lost constantly at every step and a lot of backtracking. I was not able to finish it yet because i wasn't having any fun at all. Map was confusing as hell. This is the first time I stopped playing the game... and i have a hundred of hours in it. I hope the news levels are more straightforward.

The hub is the worst part of the level for it, the other sections you can at least see the paths to take. I did spend a while looking for the switch to the gardens though because it all looked the same.

I like it, it has a lot of content and it's fast paced, kind of like a twitch shooter. You can maneuver the character a lot, it's not just jump and gun. Like you can fucking roll on the ground and there's air combat and a lot of bullshit. It is however very janky. It seems like the developer prioritized putting a lot of stuff into the game rather than bug fixing it.
It's also not that well optimized, the graphics and sound settings work weird... controller support is also not quite there. There's no online multiplayer. And unfortunately a lot of people won't even attempt to try it because, you know.
