I mean, everyone agreed it was a good game, the main problem it had going for it was the fact that it didn't have a persian MC, which made so people didn't feel like playing the game.
It's honestly mindboggling that they made an actually okay game but threw everything down the drain by making the character black instead of persian, like why the hell erase a brown race for another, more brown one? Isn't the point of it not being white to begin with or what?

Lost Crowns genuinely has the best gameplay of any metroidvania i've ever seen. Insanely smooth platforming and good combat too, the recall power is fucking nuts. The game is full of soul and passion too, the bosses in particular feel like the dev team had a ton of fun making them. It's a shame they DESTROYED the game's rep with the first trailer, i really want a sequel with redeemed Vahram (true Prince of Persia) as the protagonist.

It’s actually so frustrating how every thread about PoP LC bitches about Sargon incessantly when he’s not fucking black. They gave him a haircut, so fucking what, the game is fantastic. Played and completed the lost crown when it got released. It was actually pretty damn good and boss fights were amazing. One of the better metroidvania that's for sure. I would like a sequel but unfortunately ubi closed down the studio so too bad.

Tencent has part ownership, but no creative role. Ubisoft has the same uglyifing creative types at the wheel right now, but even those idiots must know that being so anti sexy is terrible. They're still french after all. Ubi has not shown any sign of pivoting though.

NTA but for me it was the satisfying feeling of new movement abilities changing how you traverse the same area which you'll be doing a lot.
The movement was satisfying at the beginning and felt like Sands PoP (except for no wallrunning, which got fixed with the airdash which I think is the first ability)
Then the abilities just kept compounding and some late-game areas ask you to combine them in cool and satisfying ways. Contextual animations make it flow and feel natural despite you doing stuff like doublejump cancelling an airdash backwards.
Then there were some of the puzzle segments and esoteric challenges. A fond memory I have is one puzzle chest requiring you to look at the environment and realize that you can bring an enemy from a completely edge of the map to get it to show up. Fun stuff.
Combat wise I liked the fight with the Vergil knockoff, he was actually moving too fast for me to keep up, so it was satisfying to learn the fight.
