On both covers he's wearing a metal shoulder piece which you can later purchase so you can get of the leather one that the game forces you to buy.

In AC2 you're forced to buy leather boots which don't look that different from the default ones, in Brotherhood you're forced to buy Roman Pauldrons which are ugly as sin and different' pauldrons don't unlock until two or three Sequences later. Also, you *cannot* buy that cover's metal left pauldron. Period. It does not exist in-game. Every pauldron looks different, and also comes with a right shoulder pauldron and not just a left shoulder one attached to the cape. Pic related can only be modded in.

Brotherhood was a standalone DLC for 2 basically, and while the gameplay improvements and new forms of content are appreciated, the story took a massive toll and I will never let that slide because the story is the reason why I got hooked to AC in the first place.

It peaked, story and gameplay wise, with Black Flag. I consider it nearly perfect, and I am eternally mad that Skull and Bones took a decade to come out and was a fucked up, exploitative shell of what it ought to have been.

I just wanted Sid Meier's Pirates crossed with Black Flag. That was it. I waited a fucking decade for that shit and it never came.

The parkour in AC1-ACR is fun, it also had cool set pieces, a neat mystery and a fun protag in Ezio. After that, the only noticeable addition was ship combat in AC3/4/Rogue. Then Unity, the stinky turd that is, came along and killed AC. So in response, Ubisoft pivoted the series to being a shitty Witcher 3 knockoff.

This is the one Ass Creed I thought was fun from beginning to end because of the smaller scale and the side content being actually engaging, the other ones I tried always lost steam haflway through.

The first one has good worldbuilding and a good story, and I would also say it's fun so long as you turn off the HUD. If you climb the towers and look around, pay attention to where the bureau chief tells you to go, or even just walk around and listen in the streets, you'll be able to find enough side quests to get to the assassination missions without too much hassle. Anything after AC1 is just following waypoints; you can't effectively play AC2 and onward without using the minimap and they also completely miss the point of synchronizing on the towers.
