Love the series, got this game gifted to without even being aware it existed initially.
Seems okay so far, I'm only at the Mountainside. I feel put off by the voice acting, mostly because it feels out of place in a Shinobi game (same for dialogs really), even though I do recognize the voice acting behind it but I don't know if that's a positive or a negative.
So far it seems okay but there's some weird weeb jerking off so far. Like I don't mind some of it, but it feels like a barrage and a shop that sells you moves feels really off in a Shinobi game (wtf?)
I'm still early in the game, but I already miss some of the REALLY cool additions that Shinobi 3DS actually did. Like the uppercut slash into other slashes the freedom and freeflow of it, the ability to deflect attacks to provide either offense or movement depending on your choices.
The music has been VERY forgettable so far though, like damn. What happened here?
It seems like a good game, but the hit stun confirm on whatever you hit someone or get hit feels too long, a bit shorter would've probably been better. I also miss the infinite-supply Shurikens (fuck you for renaming them Kunais, they're SHURIKENS EVEN IF IT MAKES NO SENSE THAT THEY'RE NAME AS SUCH)
What happened to my shuriken-spread during my double jump by the way? The fuck? OGs didn't have this issue (not talking about the arcade ones, since they're a different breed, which are valid too, but this game clearly leans on the Genesis/Megadrive games) and the 3DS one also provided only 5 of them at a time but allowed to regenerate, leading to a lot more flexibility.
The game feels like a mix between Super Shinobi and Shinobi 3DS so far. WAYYYYY easier than 3DS though so far. Also no cool scarf. Unsure about the whole metroidvania aspect, I guess I'm just lukewarm to it so far.
Also my muscles memory keep telling me to dive kick while doing the riding session. Why is the Shinobi Execution even here by the way?
