Tamriel Rebuilt is so big I burned out exploring only half of what currently exists. I keep planning on coming back to check out Grasping Fortune and Cyrodil, but by the time I do that Wealth Beyond Measure will be out and it'll be even bigger.

Tamriel Rebuilt is impressive and all but it seems all in vain when you consider that the foundation isn't that interesting or robust to support such a big adventure. Sure, Morrowind is the best and most interesting TES game but it's far from what a game would need to be to justify expanding its content at this scale. It would have to have a lot more in-depth RPG mechanics and engaging systems and world elements/storytelling potential

They have a whole 15 minutes on Skyrim Slop Con and that will probably be enough to humiliate all these Skyrim mods if they announce the release of a new expansion or mod

I think the issue is people try to do everything instead of just playing morrowind naturally. My characters are usually only good for 50ish hours because once you get super powered it's not as fun as the grind to get there.
My advice is just burn out, take a break, and then when you come back start a new character. If you're dead set on exploring new parts of TR just warp to the new areas using the console after you reach level 5-10

I think it's good enough. Can't say I know of any video games that do what Morrowind do, and certainly none do it better. It's not perfect sure but it's literally the best we've got

I'm actually looking to play MW for the first time. Is OpenMW going to ruin my experience in any way if I just use the bare minimum to get better resolution and some slight visual tweaks here and there?

If you're not interested in the MWSE, there's no reason not to use OpenMW.

MWSE allows for fun mods like fishing, but if you don't want that or pure authenticity then go for OpenMW. It changes a bunch of stuff but it's all small and a newbie won't know any better.
Personally I stick with MWSE because I like all the fun and weird mods that add more life to the game and know how to unpack a fucking folder.
