Fighting games. I don't want to mess around with a million system mechanics, every modern game seems to focus on them being really strong and if your character isn't able to utilise some aspect then you're fucked. Meanwhile older games have wild characters that have their own distinct strengths and weaknesses and the system mechanics are a nice additional touch.
