We've known this for half a decade.

He said during DMC5's press run that he was going to leave Capcom and staid on the condition that they let him make that game and DD2. Once he was done with DD2, he left just like he said he would.

It was TORtanic posters that tried to twist it into something else when even Capcom themselves said they were happy with DD2's performance.

For the record DMC and DD are Capcom's 5th and 7th best selling properties, so they'd have to be insane to fire him.
