starting with BO3 zombies introduced bobblegums, you buy them in a match and they give a bonus. BO3 is the last zombies I played but in that one you chose 5 that would be inside the pool of possible ones in the next match and you could get 1 per round for free, with another costing increasingly more in points. They could be temporary (faster ADS, 5x melee damage etc) to permanent (every zombie perk instantly granted to you) to single use (teleport to a random place on the map, invincible during the animation). The better ones costed in-game currency that was relatively hard to grind (but of course you could buy it with real cash) and were permanently consumed when used (unless you closed the game in task manager, which is what most people did). You also couldn't choose which ones to get, it was slots spinning or consuming more common ones, but the selection of which bubblegum (both cost and outcome) was limited to 3 on a daily rotation

To be fair, if you purchased a skin in the last week or so since the announcement you should probably be entitled to a full refund.
