Halo is a very moddable franchise with solid lore and world building. Even fan games get made for it. I just recently played a "play as marine" Halo Reach overhaul for the campaign and honestly that shit was very well done narratively. The final mission has you playing as Johnson's squad escaping Reach and they use the Halo 1 armor and assault rifles with 60 bullets.

man i really love halo 1-reach. i cant believe there's anons who've spent more time whining about halo than others have enjoyed playing these games when they were current with friends from school/work.

In high school all of my friends relentlessly fellated this trilogy, we even had massive LAN parties where everyone brought their consoles and we played multiplayer.
I never got it. I found the game so fucking boring and even at the LAN parties the only thing that was fun was flying around in a Banshee being a nuisance.

On PC sure, but on consoles I was shocked how bad other shooters felt compared to halo. You can consider it a worthless achievement, but Halo perfected the console shooter with it's first attempt, at least in terms of control.

I rate Halo games on how good I am at the multiplayer. Halo CE I am good at because I can just rape people with the Magnum, so it's good. Halo 2 I'm just okay at, so it's ok. Halo 3 I suck at, so Halo 3 is shit. Halo Reach I am good at, so Halo Reach is good. Any questions?
