These 'people' are genuinely mentally ill. They are unable to function in normal society. They're autistic, on a lot of medication like HRT and deeply out of shape.
They don't understand social cues even remotely.

Blizzcon situations this is normal for competent (if corrupt) organizations. If you are hyper vigilant then you'd also make them full on reliable plants rather than just players you trust (who could go renegade).

The last time a fanfest got announced (the first one, at least) it was like a 2-3 month delay between it and the fanfest so we might be looking at november-ish? Even if I am sour on the game I'm still interested to see where it goes next to see if it'll reinvigorate my enthusiasm.

Honestly that may be age related more than anything. I was going to ask why Japanese devs are less agile with gacha/mobile but when I look at the revenue I get reminded of the obvious with pokemon and uma musume. But cygames was founded in 2011 versus the late 80s(?) for Square. Nikke's developer was founded in 2013. I can't get fate/grand order's developer's history but their publisher was created in 1995. These devs are just old dinosaurs out of touch with the current trends and industry, it's not their fault but it's not a surprise either.

We're seeing the same phenomenon in the West with the old behemoths dead, dying, or far less successful than they should be. Saw it even earlier than now

Probably they are working in other MMO, remember that the original FFXIV started development in 2005 and was announced in 2009

XIV has already just had everyone submit their questions ahead of time and Yoshida picks what he wants to answer. They used to do live questions but retards kept wasting time with stupid lore questions or glamour requests.

It's highly doubtful they'd do that, the logistics to build one is a nightmare nowadays. Expectations for what it would need in terms of content and fidelity are insanely high.
Look at how Ashes of Creation is still nowhere near out. Look at how New World flopped.
That is to say, I don't see them not doing something Online related. The safest bet they could do, but may be too late by the time it's out, would be a Baldur's Gate 3 clone but Final Fantasy. D&D-Lite, FF themed, jobs, custom character, romancing, Tactics style gameplay. It would hit a specific niche and be huge (and yet fags would still cry that it's not a REAL turn-based game).

Most people are not good with creativity. They're better with consuming. A look at modbeasts shows that, even if I am sympathetic to them losing mare the average person in that culture is either a woman (or 'woman') who is in the orbit of Met-gala/Drag-queen style hyperbaroque ridiculousness or a man who is still in that orbit. I would adore a baldurs gate 3 style thing, but I just think they lack the ability to conceive of that kind of free form roleplay. I'd be content with just a FF tactics that has combat like BG3 but none of the roleplay. But the unique indirect multiple ways to approach an issue of BG3 is culturally beyond them as much as it'd be for a Western company to come up with an anime-anime. As in not just anime aesthetics (class of 09 or castlevania) but the actual underlying storytelling/character/writing style that people like.

If I was trying to appeal to the newer audience I would be trying to lean hard on the roblox/fortnite approach which is an extension of minecraft and "Build your own fun". I think Japanese devs are fundamentally unable to comprehend this kind of gameplay so it'll never happen there. The best they could do is try and wedge into the gacha world but it's overfilled, the Sork and Chinese companies are younger and more adept at capitalizing on it, it's too late to get into that unless you have a special sizzling IP like Uma musume. But game wise the only trend I noticed before roblox recently being in the news was '4 player friendslop'. If you were creative I bet there's a way you could make that work as a JRPG: 4 niggas in a row are now 4 friendslops in a row.

You should really try SaGa. At least Romancing SaGa 2 and 3. RS3 allows you to play the entire game as a strategy war sim, or as someone issuing commands to the rest of the party from the backline. FFXI also gets a lot of its DNA from SaGa.
