will probably be average like the other horizon entries but it'll be nice to have a day/night cycle racing game with competent/decent handling set in japan i guess
the dialogue will still be cringe inducing japanglish shit but at least you don't have to listen to a bunch of spics

does the day night cycle even still exist? i remember FH4 had really great sunsets, nights and sunrises in bongland and then at one point they made nighttime take like 30 seconds even in the winter because shitters complained

oh maybe not then idk, i dropped fh5 after about 45 mins so the last thing i remember is fh4 era, and the nights in that game were always long enough, maybe it was patched

I've been playing Hot Pursuit 2 lately, the PS2 version. Kind of repetitive after a while but it's neat how the two career trees basically force you to play with the whole car roster at different times and there's a lot of callbacks to NFS3 in the courses if you keep an eye out. I never knew the NFS editions of the cars in the PS2 version have different liveries, like a Corvette Racing C5-R shoutout on the Vette or my personal favorite, a classic gold over racing green livery for the Elise (pic related).

one of the biggest issues with contemporary nfs is the early cars being too good/high end. i just started your game an hour ago, why are you giving me an s13? as a jdmfag i'm probably not going to change cars now. yet i boot up nfs underground 1 and i don't think i've ever gone through that game without using at least a dozen cars. i'm a bit autistic though in that supercars do literally nothing for me, never driven a lamborghini or ferrari or anything adjacent to those in a racing game and never will

I've talked about this in a previous racing thread but that's one of the main things that annoys me about some modern racing games, GT7 included. They speedrun you getting to faster cars instead of giving you a euro shitbox hatchback and letting you work your way up from there by yourself. Christ within a few races of GT7 and the shitty cafe thing was already having me enter races to win modern sports cars, instead of just letting me buy a second hand Demio and tuning it up myself.
