The official reason why spongebob goes to driving school forever is because Nickelodeon told the devs spongebob needs to go to some kind of school so that the audience can relate to him better. And the creators thought that driving school would be funny and more interesting than normal school, because spongebob is supposed to be an adult so the joke is he is incompetent and he has to take driving school forever. That is how they made him an adult who still goes to school. In one of the first boating school episodes if you notice, his school is more like an actual school where they have lockers and a class pet, this was because the devs had to do something the viewers could relate to.

The thing about Civ is that you'll like whichever one you play first. But I'd reccomend V or VI

VI is the only one I've played and it was the best. Lovely music and ambience and I liked the decision making. I did have to look up a guide on what anything meant because it's got a horrible tutorial. 1,000s of words on screen and nothing to guide a new player. Now I get it.

There's just certain things you shouldn't ever learn about VI, like rushing currency so you can place down all your commercial hubs with minimal district cost scaling, or using policy cards to abuse production overflow.

Driving school was hard because I could drive and knew all the rules beforehand. I just never got an official license until my mid 20’s and more or less took a huge gamble each time I did drive. To me it felt redundant and redundant shit makes my brain melt.

I'll say start with 4, if for no other reason then because it's older and going back to it from newer titles can filter you. But I also started wtih 5 and managed to get into 4 and AC but never into 6.
Ultimately it doesn't matter which one you choose because the goal is to become good enough at the core mechanics that you can go back and enjoy Alpha Centauri
