I agree, the games being made for hardware the average person can no longer afford is pointless. All the games with high requirements people dont have mean nothing. Look at your spread of hardware people have on steam. Most people dont have the best of the best. Tens of millions are still in the"10 era nvidia or equivalent cards" area Hundreds of millions are still in the 20 and 30 era of nvidia or equivalent. The numbers drop off a cliff for the 40 and 50 cards or equivalent

This I was looking at some of the ultra high end upgrades and the upgrade is definitely there if youre looking but if youre just playing you wont notice
not like going from ps1 to ps2 to ps3 era. Some of the ps4 era games just looked like slightly better ps3 games and ps4 vs ps5 is even worse. There might as well not be a difference at all visually.
Not obviously theres a power difference
But id prefer devs start making games for the hardware of yesterday primarily that runs well on almost anything, but obviously with setting for the new hardware that you can turn on that really make it shine. I dont expect games to look high end hardware on low end hardware but if you want to make money people need to be able to play your game on pretty much anything. We already had massive huge games on older hardware. So they size and complexity doesn thave to take a hit, just the visuals, and then the visuals only have to take a hit on lower end cards. Just make your settings that versatile and make sure the game has a style or presentation that looks good regardless of settings even if it only looks best on the highest settings.
