If you aren’t a mad loser hypocrite, close the tab and walk away. If you are all of those things (and sarcasm doesn’t protect you), continue to prove it by replying (or start samefagging).
>game has some stealth mechanics that are fun or serviceable in regular gameplay >the forced stealth sections are way less fun than regular gameplay because you instafail when spotted and are not even allowed to incapacitate patrollers
>>719115996 (OP) >forced stealth section is just "look at this guy until he does a 180 turn and walks away" >the enemies are also so spread apart that its just this on loop with no tension until the mission is over
>RTS game about gathering resources, building a base, and constructing units >mission with a fixed starting force and no base
Tiberian Sun was the worst for this, because the level designers thought it would be fun to plan the missions so that every corner was a gotcha that severely fucked you up unless you already knew it was there and preemptively set up the correct response.
Don't spend several missions teaching me the joys of expanding a base and building an army, and then tell me to fuck off.
>>719116624 >game tells you explicitly that although you can fight, you should avoid doing so >have a mandatory boss fight that will hard check you until you go back and master the combat mechanics
>game with a territory conquest campaign mechanic >when you have taken 75% of the map one of your allies inevitably betrays you and you have to take half of it back, again.

I remember the second or third mission of the original dawn of war was a stealth mission (in the first half) and it always baffled me how they thought they could do a stealth segment in an RTS

I’m convinced that most devs don’t understand what makes a good stealth game. It’s why the only good stealth games tend to come from devs with experience in making stealth games and fans of the genre.
Stealth is so much more than just “stay out of sight”, yet people seem to have a hard time grasping that.
