The map still gets players because meatgrinders are easy turn your brain off and enjoy the fireworks kinds of maps, like 2fort. But any staple map that people play for long enough to will fall to this fate, regardless of how much cognitive load is required to do more than blasting chokes all round.

Stopped playing this game half a year ago. I can't fucking stand the matchmaking system anymore. It's absolute rotten DOGSHIT! It was shit when it first dropped and it is still shit now. Meet your Match is objectively the worst update this game has ever gotten and it killed TF2.

I quit this game once I realized you have to have 10x the skill to play pyro compared to soldier or demo but you will still be a worse player because the class was designed that way. I didn't even bother playing anymore after that because why 'git gud' when I'm playing the wrong class.

No they don't because they willing queue up for badwater, barnblitz and upward instead. But they like these maps because 5000 hour sniper can rape noobs by abusing the massive sightlines and 5000 hour soldier can jump around and shit on noobs because its so open.
They can't do that on dustbowl which is why its considered a bad map.

Yeah the large underwater sections are pretty awkward for demo since you have to land directs on people moving quickly along multiple axis and can't really utilise stickies as much. The underwater combat sucks in general unless you're a heavy lover. I also just think pretty ugly visually, I'm not really a fan of the visual gimmick maps like this or Embargo, Venice or Odyssey where it feels like it was designed more to look attention grabbing on a workshop page than to actually play well.
