You're meant to kick, gouge, stun, blind, not just DPS. You are there to smooth out the combat for the group. Maybe they're a new player.

Tanking is fun. It's just playing with randoms that's gay. Luckily, once you're established as a tank you never have to play with randoms ever again because guildies will always be begging you to tank stuff for them.

I went from lvl 17-59 on Nostalrisu / Ely / Nost pservers 10 years ago just tanking dungeons. I got all my exp from tanking. I was good, too... marking mobs for kill order and CC and shit. Never fucking up a pull.
I got so many whispers from people wanting me to tank their group non-stop while levelling and I was constantly over-geared because of it.

The downside? People only wanted me to tank, no-one wanted to actually be my friend :(
It was like being a video game Chad, but instead of hoes just wanting me for my big dick, they just wanted me for my big health pool. Once I fucked them -- tanked for their group -- they left. Until they wanted my fat health bar again.

Also when I finally got to level 60 barely any guild needed a tank, and the only guild I could get into had like five other tanks in it, and there was one tank and healer combo in that guild who decided to start drama about an officer stealing from the gbank, all in order make the other tanks leave, (which I stupidly did) and I lacked the raid leadership knowledge to just start my own guild, so after getting my pre-bis and everything, and doing MC with them for a few weeks, it was like a 700+ hour hole that just went nowhere.

Did I enjoy it?
Sure.
Would I do it again?
NO. FUCK NO.
Only commit to being a tank if you have IRL friends and a guild spot lined-up already. I learned that the HARD hard way.

Dragonflight made CC optional on the skill tree. Totally retarded.
