That's because they're all Japanese developed. There used to be a distinction between the western industry that put out good PC ports for the most of the time before mass production of games on Unreal Engine 4 to 5 came along. That's because Japan had always been console focused, therefore their games always turned out like shit on PC. Japan never put out a port worth a damn, with the exception of Metal Gear Solid V and Hideo Kojima breaking an age old trend.

So it is indeed weird how times have changed at the western industry is just as incompetent now.

The reason consoles are so popular here for the longest time was Japan. Why much of the adversity and friction exists between PC gamers and console users of this board i guess. Although the Japanese industry have been improving at times and have stopped a lot of the exclusivity preferences/gating. So the excuse to own a console has been dwindling since.

It's all irrelevant now about who makes the best ports, the playing field was evened by the monstrosity known as Unreal Engine 4 and 5.

There are zero modern games that use the unreal engine 1.
And that's sad, people should use the UE1 to retrodev shit. Unreal and unreal tournament literally come with the editor to make it a thing.
