I'm happy for you anon, but if you want to run games at their max settings then you should never skimp on parts. You sure as hell aren't going to be playing games on max settings with Ray Tracing, let alone trying to do that at 4k. I imagine you can do max setting and 4k if you have DLSS and Frame Gen running. Ray Tracing still needs an absolute top of the line card though that is pretty much only worth it if you have 5090. Hope you got a decent CPU, cause modern titles are fucking starving for some sweet CPU power.

Anyway, might as well play MGS Delta, Mafia and Elden Ring if you haven't played it yet. There are really not that many games that actually require mid to high-end graphics cards to give you the best experience, and those that require them tend to be unoptimized pieces of shit you should avoid, like Monster Hunter Wilds.

Either that or the Budget HDR AOC monitors (q27g3xmn or q27g40xmn). The q27g40xmn model is newer and has more dimming zones but some people say there are other issues. Personally, I have the q27g3xmn and it's been great besides some VRR flicker at lower framerates.

That is correct, the last thing you want to do is spend more money on marginal gains. Granted, a good monitor goes a long way, but 4K has been placebo for years and to this day it still hasn't really standardized, you should be more worried about response time, higher framerate and better image quality, and at some point consider if the jump to OLED is really worth it.

Personally I love 4k. I used to game on a 4k monitor, but I took a chance on a 1440p ultrawide, since 4k versions didn't exist at the time. I'll never go back from an ultrawide, but at this point I'm waiting for an affordable 4k OLED ultrawide. Literally only 1 exists right now. It's too big for my set up and it's insanely expensive, so maybe in the next 2-3 years there will be more sizes available and at a better price point. My top suggestion is ultrawide 1440p OLED. If you don't want ultrawide or don't have the space, then I see no reason not to go 4K OLED. Even if you can't run games at full 4K, at least you'll have room to upgrade your rig before you even need to consider upgrading the monitor. 4K OLEDs have become much more affordable in recent years.
