It's probably a decade of muscle memory baked into my brain but warband just feels better to me. I swind my sword and I know what angle it's going to go, how far it will reach, how long until it connects. Bannerlord feels like it has more animations baked in. I swing and my character does not feel like he's swinging were I aimed, he's swinging were his animation decided to go.

Is it worth putting points in Weapon Master?

Not really, it gives you nothing that you can't get naturally from playing the game. Still, if you're not planning on playing that save for very long and just want to be a strong fighter as soon as possible it's fine to take a few points.

Honestly everytime I try to make a tribal run it fucking sucks. Almost every unijt takes an eternity to get to the decent upgrades while you can get Swadian men-at-arms in 2 minutes.

Thanks for reminding me I have the Manifest Destiny achievement in Warband. The "beating it," achievement. I actually got a brain blast of the couple hours of cleanup I finished the game with. Didn't use any cheats, but I savescummed hither and tither, and Floris has some business options that generate stupid cash after a while.

Still better than Bannerlord other than the graphics.

I think it is possible but you need to be lucky. I once had an isolated enemy village and castle near my allied kingdom borders. I constantly raided it to make money and then invested it into dye makers. you can now afford the best troops but now you have to grind to make your army and kingdom bigger, I wish this game had more stuff to do other than just repeating this loop.

the best way to handle the situation you posted is either engage the vassals that are lagging behind at night (so they have less reinforcement range and the other lord can't join them), defeat them in detail then if you manage to capture them stick them into a fief with a prisioner tower and don't let them go when ransom offers come in, once you get a few lords into your dungeons (or capture their current marshall) the AI won't be able to defend themselves and the rest is just grinding through the sieges, you could also just do the siege and choke them there but that requieres a good siege layout and not all fiefs have that, rule of thumb for all sieges it to not fight on the walls but rather on some location where all your archers can shoot while the AI focuses on your infantry thus exposing themselves to range fire.

literally all you have to do is stack trainer on your companions, level surgery/trainer on your main character (you'll still have plenty of points left for leadership and an OP horse archer build to go alongside it) and farm relations with as many villages as possible, that should give you basically infinite troops to go around with, then once you have enough swadian knights you just F1 F3 every battle.

I remember helping my liege defend his town from the enemies, it was extremely hard and bloody siege to win but in the end I got literally no reward no loot no nothing and I uninstalled this piece of shit

you should only have good natured/outstanding lords in your kingdom and even tho you do get like -5 relations with them if you start a war like that they will never defect and getting their relation up is super easy as you just need to increase your Honor, and that will come naturally as you fight vassals and let them go.
also noble ladies who are already married to a lord can fix all your negative relations with their faction's lord for money, you just need more than 2 relations with them in order for the option to appear, setting their husband free from being imprisioned inside a fief will boost their relations with you.

yeah, its the journey that matters, not the destination, you are unstoppable by the endgame anyways so if you can't stomatch the siege grind there's no point doing it, tho you can always just auto-resolve them if you have enough vassals with you or if your army is just that big.
but i almost always end up quitting when i reach the point where the rest of the factions simply can't stand against me anymore instead of sitting through that, unless if im playing modded and i haven't beat it at least once that is.

You gotta raise certain affinity scores that are completely hidden from you. Not obscured just literally not accessible to you lol and these values dictate how much or how little sway you have with other lords and are essential to getting anything fucking done past a certain point.

each troop/companion in battle takes a share of the loot so the more troops you have and the less enemies there is the less loot you'll get, that's why soloing parties as a horse archer gives the most loot, looting skill also helps but there comes a point were loot ins't really useful anymore as taking prisioners is a much better way to get money, and all equipment you could get in a battle is avaiable for purchase in towns anyways.

not really, you'll get enough proficiencies to one/two shot most troops by end game anyways with proper equipment just by playing, more points into WM would make that faster but its kinda pointless as other skills are a much better investment and level ups become scarce after 30 as level becomes harder and harder to get, the highest character i ever had was lvl 51 when playing Profesy of pendor but that's only possible because of the higher exp per kill, you would never be able to get that on vanilla.

Once you get the marshall position you can just call in your army and steamroll everything, game actually gets a bit repetitive at that point where you just take town after town and castle after castle. I'm doing a playthrough right now and only have the Rhodoks and Khergits left to deal with.

my only complaint for the difficulty is 'combat speed', because what it really means for the higher options is "do you want everyone to have an innate 300+ for all their weapon proficiencies, or 500?"
it's not even a 'difficulty' slider in the sense that (god I assume so) your allies will also get the same bump to their speed. it just makes it so the player is at a huge disadvantage at the slight upside of melees being faster.

The combat in Bonnerlord feels even more stat based than the original, and shit like kick/shield bash being awful makes the combat dreadful versus the AI. Battles are better though.
The other problem with Bonnerlord is that a most of the non-combat stuff is far worse than Warband. Bonnerlord isn't bad (love the Warhammer mod), but its a really flaccid sequel.

you can also befriend bandits if you assist them in battle against lords/manhunters. After that they won't attack you, you can keep attacking them and won't lose reputation.

It has hidden level scaling. The higher your level the larger the NPC armies. It's exponential, not linear, so you'll never out level it. Combine this with people spinning their wheels in the mud for dozens of hours and getting to higher levels before they finally decide to start conquering territories means the late game becomes extremely tedious as every battle causes devastating losses and enemies will replenish faster.

Best to do a low level run, points into Cha and Leadership and get right into kingdom wars. Don't worry if you gain a few levels from combat, since the enemy army growth is exponential it means the first few levels won't make much difference.

the only games i've seen that solve this problem are nobunaga's ambition - when both you and your enemy are bloated enough that you can't really do meaningful damage to each other, you can do "kessen", a large decisive all-out battle, where the winner takes over everything. Wonder if it can be implemented with a mod in mount and blade.
