I'm still mad
I will always be mad.
On my death bed I will be mad.
When the seas heat up and the world falls into global catastrophe I will still be fucking mad.
In the afterlife, when I get to the gates of Heaven, St. Peter and his angels will ask me "Are you still mad about ME3?" My answer will be yes.
When the race of man is no more and the ruins of man's cities have crumbled into dust, I will still be mad.
Ancient alien civilizations will find the smoldering, volcanic corpse of planet Earth and decode the secrets of the ancient "internet" and they will find this post and so my eternal anger will be brought forth into the far-flung reaches of outer space.
When the last tiny flash of heat in the universe dies and all descends into entropy, my hatred will remain.

I'm still so fucking mad I took the time to write this stupid fucking post and I'm not the slightest bit LESS mad. I fucking hate you Bioware.

Why is everyone mad about Mass Effect 3? I never played the third Mass Effect but played the first and second and I know that the first one is like a spiritual successor to Star Control 2. But why be mad at ME3 when ME2’s story was a massive detour and had virtually nothing to do with the first game? I think the entire game is a metaphorical representation of what it’s like working at NASA where all you do is lie and get lied to, usually with stuff relating to space. You get lied to so much that it makes you want to hit a woman if you choose the renegade route. Overall, I think the message is that anything is better than being a bitchless NASA nerd.

Can't trust control because it's not you just an AI you. Even the ending implies something out of character for paragon Shep. The actual Shep would help rebuild then order all the Reapers to fly into a star or something, not rule forever as an immortal "watchman".

Synthesis is evil. Globohomo unveiling its underpinning bigotry, implying lasting peace is only achievable when all differences are superficial and everyone is fundamentally the same.

Destroy is the only good ending that allows autonomy and dignity to return all forms of life. I mean they basically retconned synthetic life to require reaper code because the writers were retards but you could still have new synthetic lifeforms achieving sapience without that garbage.

Reapers aren't globohomo.
They're their opponents. It was never about peace, and Mass Effect itself is about things far worse than what is shown.
There are no good endings in this game, only one bad end, one whose implications escape most players because Reapers are, ironically, beyond their comprehension.

It's pick your poison really.

>Destroy
removes every artificial intelligence and the mass relays from the galaxy, effectively leaving most systems permanently isolated from one another. not only would the cool geths and EDI be destroyed, a bunch of ships and services that relied on artificial intelligence would also be fucked.
>Control
unstable, and it probably only delays another conflict with the reapers later on. It'll perhaps be even worse when the time comes, considering they got Shepard.
>Synthesis
very suspicious amalgamation of biological and machine intelligence (how the fuck would that even work? It makes no sense). Who knows what the consequences of fusing with the reapers would be.

All in all, unfortunately I guess I'd pick destroy. It's the 'safer' option.
Though in retrospect, doesn't the explosion of the mass relays destroy practically the entire system where it was present?

I agree with humanity first on principle. The problem in 3 is
>IM never shows any evidence to believe the reapers can be controlled
>he actively hinders the thing that can control them by having the ninja faggot steal the VI among other things
>Earth got its shit pushed in so it's clear humanity on their own isn't gonna cut it to beat the reapers

You kill all the Geth (bonus, you kill all the Quarians if you brokered peace and fused the Geth and Quarian into a hybrid cyborg race)
You cause the starvation and mass slaughter of Turian army and all Quarians because they're stranded in a galaxy without the dextro-amino acid-based shit they can digest.
You give the middle finger to the Starchild cunt.
You royally fuck up galactic society, setting motherfuckers back centuries, if not millenia.

There isn't one.
I have a conspiracy theory that the reason the writers botched the ending of the mass effect series so hard was somewhat of a fuck you to EA. I don't know if anyone remembers the era where gamers hated EA because they were buying up niche franchises and dudebroifying them to mass market them. Mass Effect was one of these series, where the sequel was produced after EA purchased Bioware and you can witness the dudebroification with your own eyes by looking at the differences between ME 1+2. I wonder if they didn't intentionally destroy the IP as a silent act of rebellion by making the mass relays blow up in the end. The mass relays were the keystone of the entire series, blowing them up effectively puts any sequels written into a corner and ensures that nothing can happen in the universe going forward. It's why Andromeda had to come up with the whole Ark Ship bullshit to try to side step the issue that the Mass Relays are fuckin gone. There can't be any more sequels because the setting is irrevocably damaged.
The only way they could possibly make a continuation of the story (now that the whole breakaway society gambit has been played) is to set a new game so far forward in the future that the mass relays could have been repaired/rebuilt. This removes the two main hooks of the series though, which were the galaxy wide existential threat and the Shepard team.

Destroy ending but it doesn't really matter, they should retcon the three endings in the new game and just say whatever the thing did took out the reapers and left the relays intact actually.

The bigger issue with the new game will be whether or not Rannock is populated but they can just avoid it by preventing the player from being able to visit if they have an ending where the quarians can settle on a homeworld again.

>Bioware made the Mass Effect game they wanted
I agree with you but I would draw a distinction between classic Bioware and Nubioware. Classic Bioware was making games that appealed to one demographic, Nubioware started making games that appeal to a different one. This transition happened under EA ownership. Pretty much anything they've made past Mass Effect and Dragon Age doesn't appeal to me whatsoever and that's largely because it's a different group of people making the games under the same name.

Synthesis is plainly retarded.
The entire conflict is built on the supposed inevitability of synthetics killing organics, so their proposed solution is to make everyone some form of cyborg, which will for whatever reason lead to an unprecedented age of peace. All this despite the fact that you can broker peace between one such conflict and the fact that the Citadel races themselves have been fighting each other for as long as they've been in contact, showing that even if everyone is on the same side of the organics-synthetic scale, conflict will keep arising. Not to mention that even between the Geth themselves, a hive mind, there's an internal conflict happening between their decision to support the Reapers or not.

The writers don't explain why giving Geth viscera and organics a couple circuits will magically make everyone into a pacifist, it would have to be mind control or something, because the games show that the synth-org conflict isn't as inevitable and that making everyone equal won't put an end to conflicts.

I'd find it likely that Earth would have some infrastructure to manufacture those foods to a limited extent to account for tourism. It's not Palaven where we're told non-Turians have never come on account of their heavily militarised culture.
What's more damning is that due to the fact that for some reason the war to decide the fate of the galaxy would happen in London of all places you leave stranded the brunt of this cycles forces, being a number far too large for Earth alone to sustain. The war over not starving to death would be fierce
