You're playing a single player MMO. Welcome to hell.

is it fine to sell it all? I don't know if any of it is worth keeping. I tried that skeleton bridge thing, it helped but I usually only get to 20k gil before I get bored.
>>719144192
cool game but they were fucking stupid for restricting fast travel.

should be farming enemies way above your level for loot to sell

>find an enemy with an event remotely valuable loot drop
>farm it for a few minutes on high speed
>get a bunch of money
there's a surplus of cash in this game

You pretty much have to kill everything in sight to get enough money for anything. Sell the loot and get money that way. Just dont sell the most expensive stuff. Helps a ton later on since most of the expensive stuff is used for bundles to get better/best gear. The game will keep track of you selling stuff but if you get new bundle it will reset everything. For example, you sell 10 wolfpelts, 3 cactusfruits and you have sold 8 earth stones before, the earthstone counter will go back to 0 since wolfpelts and cactusfruits give you potion bundle. The system is fucking ass if you dont know about it before hand. There are only 3 items that are completely separate from the counter but you dont have to worry about them for a long time.

Are you playing the original or tza?

keep teleport stones, but yes the main point of all other loot is literally to sell. Technically there are some advantages to keeping stuff like gemsteels to exploit specific bazaar stuff but I doubt you're deep enough in the game to have that.
>>719144285
teleport stones can be freely bought from any cruise ship, they're like 200 gil each and you can just buy 99. Ships can also be used to fast travel btw

Only stuff worth keeping are teleport stones and one material that I don't remember the name of right now.
Selling is good idea anyway to unlock those deals where you can get some cool weapons and accessories

any time you take a cruise ship you can go belowdecks and there's a shop at the counter on IIRC the right side which sells teleport stones

This is one of the easiest if not the easiest mainline FF, retard-kun. The game practically plays by itself.

Not OP but I remain very confused about this. Didn't get any new bundles in ages (aside from the stuff you get from the "fishing" mini-game, which I discovered late). I'm close to the end-game, could go to the sky fortress Bahamut and finish it. But still want to do as many quests as possible and get the most of the game.
Despite selling stuff on a regular basis after going through an area and dungeon, barely get any bundles anymore. There is also this weird thing where random merchants will give you knowledge to get more loot. Found some of these dudes by accident, but it's really difficult for some reason to check out their location online. Yes, I'm willing to just look stuff up at this point. Love this game, but this shit is obtuse as fuck.

Just play and finish the game and worry about 100%ing after. Even 1 hour of optimized grinding will ruin this game balance and make everything piss easy.

It's because you have to sell the specific materials at the same time. So if you want to unlock a specific deal you need hold on the loot until you have enough.

I don't mind completely stomping the final boss anyway, I'd rather do all this shit before and then finish the main story to put this game down.
Seriously, what's up with this knowledge thing about killin specific enemies? I have been checking on whatever merchants I come across. Barely any results.

NTA but let me tell you the basics of how FF12 handles it's shopping economy.

You'll find very little raw gil laying around. Rather you'll have to find loot and then sell that loot to shops for gil. But the real money lay in Bazaars. There's an invisible tracker for the things to sell. And when you fulfill certain quotas, you'll get bundles from the Bazaar that you can buy. For example: if you sell

3 iron scraps
2 foul flesh
3 Earth Stones

Then you'll get pinged that an Iron Sword is avaliable for sale at the Bazaar. And while an Iron Sword is a nothing item, The Artemis Bow might be more attractive. But beware, once you meet the qualifications for a lesser item, the invisible tracker will then reset. So if you were building your way to a better item, suddenly your progress will be lost. So it's better to sell in bundles rather than a little bit each visit, unless you're hard up for money.

There's a loose crafting system in the game where the items that become available in the Bazaar depends on what loot you sell and in what combinations. The game remembers what items you've sold previously but since multiple recipes can use the same items it is technically possible to screw yourself out of certain items if you sell certain rare/unique loot in the wrong quantities or combinations. None of this however is needed to beat the game or any of the special hunts or superbosses so I really, really do not recommend trying to game this shit, just sell shit, beat the game and accept that you don't really need shit like Tournesol for anything.

Ah okay, thanks. Didn't know about the resetting part. And doing hunts makes me go back to previous areas and dungeons, and naturally I'm going to sell shit.
At the same time, I'm still wondering: even while progressing through the game normally, these bundles just stopped happening halfway through the game. Just going through the next area, dungeon, and selling the drops from the enemies therein. I steal a lot, always have that one equipment for better loot on one character. But maybe that's just normal and they are supposed to become rarer.

All Bazaar items (including bundles) can only be unlocked one time, even if you keep selling more of the same loot used to make them. So yes, the Bazaar will eventually just run out of stuff completely.

The Hunts are a good way to grow in strength quickly. But if you want to break the game entirely, the trial mode is where you want to go. You not only get to keep the LP you earn, you also get early access to advanced enemies that you can steal from. And while the Steal chance is infamously low, if you steal the Karkata from the 2nd stage, the first half of the game just keels over.
Anonymous No.719148817
Depends which version of the game you're playing
If vanilla then just give everyone daggers and bows while using light armor to win the game since they get a damage boost from the speed stat instead of strength
In ZA you'll have to be smart about which class you want for each character, no use in making the male character with low magic stats a warrior/mage hybrid class
If you're looking for money there's a few places with large amounts of enemies that you can kill for chains that grants increased item drop chance, sell those items for gil, one of the early game places to do so is some crystal powder mine where skeletons keep spawning in mass.
If you want rare items and weapons look up a guide, some merchants are limited time only and if you progress too far then they'll disappear.
