Definitive edition integrates the DLC into the game somewhat naturally because if you had DLC on the original edition it would make the game much easier. I don't even remember what it was, but I specifically remember it being overpowered.

Yes but as that anon said the original DLCs are ALL unlocked immediately.
That means overpowered vehicles, guns, and outfits that have insane melee bonuses. They break the early-game completely.
If you're interested in the DLCs at all play the Definitive edition

The fact that an NPC will always say that and then DISAPPEAR every time you exit a clothing store was driving me insane when i was playing that game. It's really funny though it drove me to start punching random people outside the store

Year of the Snake is kinda cool but SUPER SHORT
Nightmare in North Point is garbage
Some of the outfits come with nice extra abilities but overall they're not needed.
In short, you're not missing much by not having the DLC.

The ones that add extra content like Nightmare, Zodiac and Year of the Snake are good enough. The ones that add extra outfits are iffy. The ones that just give you loads of Cop/Triad XP at the start of the game are kind of P2W.
