Is this game fun? It went on sale again today and my soulslop friend begged me to play it. He also likes Elden Ring, so I take his recommendations with a grain of salt. I looked up other reviews, and 9/10 people say they love it, so I'm giving it a second glance. It plus the DLC is $60 which is the same price as Khazan (another game I heard that has satisfying combat) not on sale.

Have you ever sit to consider that the people who give it good reviews are just Soulslike fans who will give any "Soulslop" good scores and gave Elden Ring the same high scores too?

Better combat than all official Fromsoft games except Sekiro

Has a bad habit of weird unreadable enemy windups followed by 200ms attacks

Is a difficult game that requires quick reaction time and enjoy parrying (I'm not ESL)

Yes, it's not as good as average Fromsoftware but it's only a tier lower imo
It's even better than some low tier From titles (Sekiro and Dark Souls 2)

It's funny how Nioh 2 does it twice as many times (with common enemies like aberrant soldiers being the biggest offenders) and people here love that slop

Because I'm open to almost any genre as long as it's done right. I played E33 because I like JRPGs, and I also enjoyed the interactivity of the parry system.

forgot that the dlc was out, i just went with rollslop on my 1st playthrough because parries didnt feel right but i will try it again
