And the game was created in 2020. It's about twelve times the size of Summertime Saga and that game started in 2016.

If development has slowed a little, and I don't think it really has since the last update was just a few months ago and Episode 12 is due soon, but IF it had slowed, it's way ahead of all its competitors in terms of development time.

So what's the verdict?
I would rate the earlier parts up till and including third Arclent war as 10/10 experience, later parts still have a high peak but some parts feel a bit lacking dragging the overall experience down a bit, but the end game brings it back for an overall 9/10 experience

Oh yeah I've played since that re-do, and it's done a pretty good deal to differentiate - I think the biggest one was the upper body busts for dialogue. I don't care much for the battle busts, but they do help. The "problem" as I see it is mostly just that you can identify it's an RPGM game from literally any screenshot. The battle system, that map, the sprites, even the portraits are edits of some stock resource pack for a prior version of RPGM - they are well edited and look different, but the style is there. It kinda adds up to the game not really having a recognizable aesthetic - like Summer whatever from the OP post looks like complete dogshit, but you absolutely know what it is when you see it. Again, love the game, just wish it had more resources to get the love I think it deserves.

I'd have to agree that it is objectively the most complete and certainly a seminal title, thus making it the best under those categories. Regardless of the many reworks and how much there is left to implement. Now, subjectively I'd argue that 'A Zombie's life' is also up there as one of the OGs as well as 'Urban Demons' and personally I would even add 'Oseo Bones The Manor'. Most of the stuff out there has been influenced by SS as evidenced by their gameplay structure. As much as people shit and zanzibart on it, it remains one of the best if not the best WEG to date.
