You realize the majority of games only used two grips, right.
That a game using analog would never touch the d-pad and left trigger, and a game using the dpad would never use the analog and z trigger, right?
How is that fixing it? Your movement on a controller is on the left, the LEFT not the right. How the fuck am I supposed to play goldeneye with this trash? I'm not playing 2 controllers.
>>719163791 >Sticks are still shit >They're still not standardizing features that they're selling at a premium >They're putting precisely jack and shit money into R&D
Xbox still has no motion controls, the PS5 controller isn't VR ready and Nintendo has regressed from the Wiimote when it comes to split controller ergonomics.

Neither did I before the DS4. Literally all my controllers, from PS1 to PS3, N64 to Wii U, HUEG and 360 are stick drift free. Now I already had to replace a DS4 and the this shitty DS is already starting to annoy me. Also the crappy shit on Switch already got replaced too by a hall effect so it doesn't fuck itself again.
Maybe stop sucking cocks and manufacturers will fix their shit. That's why I didn't buy another first party crap to use on my PC.
The N64 controller is fine, left hand goes on the middle grip and right hand goes on the right grip. Nintendo brought this back with the Nunchuck for the Wii

lol what
it solves the drift issue, since it's caused by wear and magnets don't wear (shut up nerd)
they aren't using them because the sensors are slightly more expensive and bad controllers = more sales so no incentive

Quite the opposite. They are better in every single way. You must have heard of some early Switch stick replacements that had firmware issues, which made their accuracy a bit shit.

It's an objectively terrible controller design and I think Nintendo was banking on that in order to sell the console >WHOAA LOOK HOW WEIRD OUR CONTROLLER IS! IT'S FROM A FUTURE ALIEN CIVILIZATION! BUY OUR GAMES!
They were coming from the 2D era, which was D-pad dominant. They didn't want to abandon this tried and true style to which the whole industry was accustomed and rely totally on the new experimental stick.
>>719164005 >spaces the C-buttons way the fuck out from the A/B buttons >puts the D-pad in a retarded spot that ruins games like Mischief Makers >absolute dogshit range of motion on the control stick compared to what the normal N64 one had
Yeah, no. I’d unironically rather pay for the Switch Online subscription just to then pay for a working bluetooth N64 controller.

neo-nufags (third worlders), think butchering english is funny. >thoughbeit, being a response to thirdies getting autistic about people ending sentences in 'though'.
N64 controller is literally fine as evidenced by the fact that to this day nobody can agree on what the ideal placement for controller inputs are. 3D games were new and nobody expected there to be a game where you need to switch between the D-Pad and thumb stick quickly, and giving the stick its own handle meant you didn't have to compromise the thumb position for either input.

It's funny how Nintendo went from "we're gonna put the analog stick on this weird third grip so that if it doesn't work out people can ignore it" to "you need to use our wagglan gimmick in everything, don't like it? buy the classic controller"

the terrible controller design had to do with when it came out, analog sticks were uncharted territory and they were not sure they were going to take off like they did so they prioritized the d-pad placement and made the middle nub as an alternative grip location for analog games.
playstation saw the mistake Nintendo did with the analog stick and made their analog controller in response to it in 1997.
