Synth unironically had a better take on Gradius because it doesn't communicate its difficulty to the player. Mork is an apologist for the unexplained rank mechanic simply because M2 added a display feature for it. He did the same thing for the janky hitboxes, somehow they're no longer an issue because the Shottriggers port lets you see how fucked up they are.
