I dropped Ryza 2 because Ryza finished her character development in 1. Is 3 any better for her? I bought the first game for coomer reasons but the story about rural teens making career choices was very relatable. In 2, Ryza gets an apartment without working for it and it didn't have that coming of age component with the magic pet storyline. I'm interested in the DX version of 3, but only if Ryza has to do a bit of 'irl work' in addition to magic ancient ruins stuff

Yumia has the energy of the older girl in a typical JRPG. Nips don't much care for that, hence why they are usually the least popular. Older meaning over 21 of course. Ryza started out as 17 which is what the average Jap who isn't a lolicon considers the ideal age.

The only remarkable parts about 3 are QoL improvements, better graphics, larger scale environments, and more depth in combat. The story isn't as grounded as the first game because the stakes always have to be raised in JRPGs, and she's already an adult so no coming-of-age themes. I liked it, but if you dropped 2 then you'll probably drop 3

I don't think that Yumia's design is bad. The game itself is not very good. Bad combat. Alchemy is less fun than previous entries. Big open world focus and the map is not very interesting. They just need to fix all this. Especially the combat, goddamn it is horrible in Yumia

once you get over the thighs, Ryza was shit too.
Anonymous No.719173068 >>719173482
The alchemy is the worst part about the game.
If you enjoy open world games for some reason then this is okay i guess
If you like spamming buttons in combat then this is okay i guess
But the way they balanced the game along with the way they introduced the extra crafting functions completely fucks the game in the first zone
>get particle skill in synthesis tree and suddenly get tier 3 green particles in the first zone. this lets you max some of your recipes and then breaks the game because the power balance is fucked.
>get the greenhouse and duplicate the one a rank ingredient you found. suddenly have 200 of them after half an hour. oh and you can manually dupe them as well with the neutral particles you'll probably amass from farming green particles.
>use the auto build function to just dump your duped high rank ingredients into your maxed out recipe (like the green neutralizer) and then recursively use that neutralizer to max craft every other recipe you leveled up.
You dont even have to do all of these. any one of these will break the game balance on very hard let alone charismatic.
If you play the game like a casual and ignore any of this? Its still easy and boring.
Anonymous No.719173121 >>719176687
Gust should make a new Mana Khemia game if they want to focus on story and rpg part so much
Anonymous No.719173482
>>719173068
And the thing is its not like they half assed the design of the synthesis system.
You're meant to fit in the crafting ingredients that provide effects based on the shape of the stratum to max out the resonance value combined with taking advantage of the matching element bonuses. There are nodes to dump mass ingredients when synthesizing because they know the amount you gather is higher than in older games
The tier 2 and 3 effects that might be present in a crafted item are supposed to give you that power boost and make even better items.
But the balance just screws everything up to the point you don't care. Sort by resonance area or let the game auto it. Even when the auto isn't efficient you'll get a pretty good item at the end.

Atelier is a shit, shovelware franchise that is good for nothing.
>Not a traditional JRPG but a comfy, SOL game, so no good, grand story or world-trotting adventure feel
>Fails at being the comfy game it bills itself as since you can’t even date any of the characters and are continuously blue-balled
>All it has going for it is alchemy/crafting, which is menu simulator slop that only appeals to the most autistics of autists and barely even qualifies as β€œgameplay” nor is it particularly fun if you’re not an autist
>Combat is typical turn-based slop which you can get from any other JRPG and doesn’t do anything better or particularly unique to stand out
Why would anyone choose to play this slop over either an actual JRPG or an actual lifesim like Rune Factory or even My Time At Sandrock?

Atelier is basically just the CGDCT anime genre in game form, but while that genre might work in anime it’s the most boring shit ever if you attempt to translate that directly 1:1 into a video game.

Atelier's cute character interactions and alchemy autism are why you play it, with the time limits imposing some semblance of structure once upon a time. Sure, you might've needed a guide to 100% them like an autist but at least a normal playthrough functioned. I really don't think this series' gameplay works too well without the time limit guidance, like I loved Arland and what I played of Dusk but I could never bring myself to finish Ryza.
