The original Siege, from release to year 2 or so, was incredible. Glitches and all. I put about 1700 hours into that game. A really good team could win a match without most of the players even firing a shot. Strategy, map knowledge, communication, and well-deployed gadgets won you the day every time. Since then, they've ruined the game with
>Dogshit new maps
Old maps were simple and intuitive. House and Plane, for example, were laid out like any house or plane would be. You would immediately know where basement or cockpit are, and could navigate easily. The new maps, and reworks of good old maps (Hereford) are intentionally confusing mazes.
>Operator Spam
Original Siege had the perfect balance of operators, it was like chess. Mostly realistic or at least plausible gadgets and abilities (jammer, sledgehammer, big shield). Every operator had a counter (Mute counters Thermite, Thatcher Counters Mute). Now, there's too many operators with dumb abilities (run through walls, holograms) that ruin the fun.
>Gay lore (see>>719163396)
Game originally had a hardcore premise about domestic terrorists using nerve gas, now it's Overwatch.
