New final boss for the campaign is pretty cool and the new arena final boss is completely different moveset wise, pretty shocking how many moves they added onto that.
I don't know if they really ramped up the other bosses in the cup that much, they didn't even give them new color palettes which is super lame

As for power, they protect planets and sealed away a guy who is now outright hyped up as a singlehanded galaxy destroyer, so they're pretty damn powerful - but presumably together and not on their own. As for 'why' they sealed him, we've been told that Galacta basically went fucking insane and would have killed everyone if nobody intervened so that's why.
