Everyone agreed that the remake replaced the original and that you didn't need to play it. The original was clunky and outdated as early as 1998 and everyone knew it.

Even if the first one got a good Remake, it still doesn't have Leon. You basically have RE1 Remake that is considered the best of the classics, and then you have RE4 that is considered the best of the action RE games. Then there's the nu-FPS shitty RE games that aren't really fun.

As I stated at the start- nobody like Chris. That's why a CV remake would sell poorly, it stars two characters nobody likes. If Leon were the main character, it'd probably salvage the game.

I actually have way more time in both, but most of the remake was on console. I beat both the original and the remake on Pro, but I assume you're more invested in one title specifically.
Never did it on PC because I found the game boring. My PC hours are just a combination of Mercs and Separate Ways (couldn't be bothered to plug the PS5 back in, PS3 is a way better BD player).
