It's not even that. When you do particles in any engine, you start with simple sprite, you stretch it, twist it, color it or shade it to simulate effects or "looks". In new gears, they not only didn't do shit to default sprite it self, it's just a pain white beam, no size difference, no color variance, no transparency, fucking nothing, but they didn't even bother twist the sprite it self, it's moving to the left as though through gravity, the sprite it self should be turned too yet it locked straight down like a fucking iron rebar.
