Is zone 4 the last group of stages? There’s a trophy for beating the final boss in under 10 hours which led me to believe the game was over that length, but I just did the surfing level and I’m at 4 hours

I'm on the fence about getting it but want to support these guys, but considering a certain game is now coming out in 8 days i was thinking about waiting. the demo was good but nothing amazing and i've never been crazy about the series

To me yes, but I absolutely fucking loved the demo, the demo alone was GOTY for me even tho I have played lime 20 games released this year
For you tho, if the demo didn't wow you, maybe wait till it's like $20, SoR4 goes on sale all the time so this probably will too

Nearly all great, best one's are on par with Raven Beak in metroid dread, there's one meh boss that is "break shield, do damage but boss just summons waves of regular mooks and doesn't directly attack" who was probably the "worst". Still fun because the regular combat is fantastic

There is time attack score attack in arcade mode if that interests you, as well as a boss rush mode

I was already skeptical of the executions, it seems like the game wants you to choose between real damage and poise damage like it's sekiro but I'm not getting that feel.

It's a choice yes, but neither is OP IMHO, just situational. If you execute (especially in chains of 2 or more) you get way more money (meh), health (sometimes useful),
and super meter orbs (rare but useful)

It's really not that big of a deal and mostly playstyle preference

However a couple of the tackiest enemies could be cheesed with shuriken for massive posie damage for an easy execution

How is the level design? Is it as gimmicky/different like in Shinobi 3? The demo felt like a long corridor but that's expected for the first map of a Shinobi game.

How much do you like it out of 10? There are so many good games coming out recently I’m hesitating to buy it

Level design is okayish, like 7/10 at best, the combat is the main draw
Haven't played any other Shinobi outside of Shadow Fancer once or twice in the arcade, somehow despite being a master system/mega drive kid

I've only done the story and about 50% of the collectables
Some early collectables are locked behind d metroidvania abilities that you get in later stages
There's arcade mode with score attack and time attack and F-S ranking based on these
There's a boss rush mode
After looking at some recent (last 13 hrs) stuff on YouTube, it looks like there's a fair bit of long fighting game combos/cuhrazzy tech you can practice and git gud at.
Different builds with your super load outs and accessories too
Feel like they'll probably add a hard mode later in an update, seems like that kind of game
