I think that's just her general outline and direction. Bayo 1 Jeanne also looked sort of like a granny, and sort of went back to that in 3. Her 2 style is, uncontested the best one.

Nah. Even if she might look like a granny, the outfit still looks fashionable and sexy. 3's outfit looks like a corny granny in the worst way possible.
Tbf the overall art direction in 3 is entirely like this. It's such a departure from the previous entries. Nothing looks Bayonetta-esque.

DESU, while I think all the games are good to great, each title felt worse than the last. Instead of focusing on the action gameplay they couldn't help but get even more wild with the minigame shit.
Haven't got around to Cereza yet, so I have no thoughts on that.

Just did the second trail I think where I have to kill with 8 torture attacks. Took me an hour to complete

the combos themselves aren't super important, but dodge offset basically means you can keep a combo sequence going even if you dodge inbetween inputs. But only one dodge per attack if I remember right.
If an enemy retreats or is out of reach you can maintain your combo bonus by shooting them too.

I just didn't like Luka's sudden unearned importance and special bloodline coming out of nowhere. Viola being weak and awkward to play compared to Bayo didn't help, nor did the boring enemy faction. The worst sin in my eyes was the final boss. All three Bayonettas join together, Mysterious Destiny and Tomorrow is Mine start playing, you're getting hyped and anticipating a Queen Sheba super summon, then they just...get blown away like a bunch of jobbers. Viola hops in for a big hero moment...then gets bitchslapped and is out of commission for the entire fight. God and then the big bad gets killed by Gommorah. Fucking Gommorah of all demons kills him, then oneshots Bayo with another slap so she can die and take Luka to hell with her. It's a complete fucking mess of a "climax".
